Talbot Celebration Evening 2018
7th November 2018
Talbot School is a specialist school working with young people aged 11-19 with a wide range of needs including severe and complex learning difficulties, autistic spectrum disorders and profound multiple learning difficulties. Apex have working with Talbot school for the last 3 years, and our coaches profoundly enjoy working with them, it is an extremely rewarding experience and it is good to give back to the local community. Here's what one of our coaches Sam, who works with Talbot, had to say about the evening and our work with the school:
"Apex are always honoured to be invited each year to Talbot Specialist School's Awards Celebration Evening. This is an event in which the Talbot students' sporting and academic achievements over the year are celebrated. The school works in partnership with Apex and The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme and the Bronze and Silver Awards are two of the many that are presented during the evening. Apex is always delighted to be chosen to help these students towards achieving their award by teaching them squash as a new sport, a requirement from the D of E scheme. To be able to contribute towards their incredible achievements is very inspiring for the Apex team, and seeing just how much work the students put into every squash session is fantastic. To be part of their celebration evening is always very rewarding , we had great fun and enjoyed seeing all the students with their families in a very happy environment."
